Bead Obsession
Flavor Paper was born in New Orleans and Mardi Gras has always been incredibly inspirational with its shameless sensory overabundance. While we favored the offbeat, bohemian aspects of this two-week celebration, even the least interested people act like children and scream for beads at the parades. Everyone becomes infatuated with beads. They’re in the air, the gutters, the trees, your drink, your hair — EVERYWHERE.
When Jon Sherman was asked to create a bead-themed wallpaper for the NOLA based art pop-up JAMNOLA he blended the intoxicating rhythm of the city with reverence to dot obsessed Yayoi Kusama to create a depth-bending beaded motif that undulates with a sense of infinite goodness — especially when given room to breathe. Bead Obsession is offered in two spot-on colorways for today’s interiors however, we can print it with more showy or soft color combos, special effects, really whatever satisfies your appetite.
“Hands in the air and everybody will sing as they hang on to my rhythm like the beads on my string”
