Tidal Fool
When it comes to exploring environmental dilemmas to connect the past, present and pending future, Duke Riley doesn’t tread water. Rather, the Brooklyn-based artist dives deep to create conversational works that reveal the realities of local pollution and global maritime effects…in a playful yet thoughtful, and clearly captivating style. In Tidal Fool, Duke depicts the trashy truth of what lies beneath with illustrations of everything from littered technology and takeout, to personal paraphernalia (some saucy items like condoms and vibrators floating about, too) — yet turns the tide to a positive with mermaids and mermen gathering the debris to instill a wave of hope and whimsy in this sea of plenty. Net, net: whether you’re working bathroom, bedroom or boardroom walls, this design will wash spaces with entertaining Flavor for as long as you keep it afloat.
**Please Note: While Tidal Fool flows like a mural, it is designed as a pattern — and is printed in 8', 10' or 12' x 52" rolls. To help seasmlessly bring your vision to the wall, we created THIS GUIDE that outlines the individual drop options for you to choose from. So, please have a look, select the continuous content you’re craving, and after you place your order we'll give you a ring to dig into the details.
P.S. We originally whipped up this Flavor for Duke's DEATH TO THE LIVING, Long Live Trash exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. Hope you caught it; it was spectacular!
