The Collective On 8th

What’s better than one house full of Flavor? Twelve, of course! Big shout out to Nashville based design firm JL Design for dressing the interiors of the new creative complex, The Collective on 8th, with many of our zesty styles, including: Alvorada, B-A-N-A-N-A-S!, Bay Area Toile, Everland, and Mount Hood. According to the Sophisticated Living article the ultimate goal of the project was “to create extraordinarily unusual spaces.” Nailed it!

Designed with Michael Angelo of Wonderland Beauty Parlor fame, B-A-N-A-N-A-S! is a pop art homage to iconic screen printing, with the added twist of scratch and sniff scent. Yes, the bananas can smell like bananas. Or, if you’d prefer, enjoy our bananas without scent. Like all of our handscreened designs this one is made to order; so, if you’d like to change the colors and add a totally different scent, just let us know. Purple banana on a pink background that smells like chocolate, anyone? We have a variety of inks and scents in our studio, tell us what you dream up and we will do our best to make it happen.

Comedy troupe The Lonely Island teamed up with us and artist Matt Ritchie to create a limited edition artist’s run Bay Area themed toile wallpaper. The wallpaper incorporates Matt 136’s original artwork of Bay Area legends, such as rappers Too $hort, E-40, Humpty Hump and Mac Dre as well as culinary icon Alice Waters, football hall of famer Joe Montana, political activist Angela Davis and newscaster Dennis Richmond as well as classic local landmarks. “We were inspired by Mike D’s ‘Brooklyn Toile’ wallpaper. It’s a way to celebrate the Bay Area even when you no longer live there” said Lonely Islander Jorma Taccone. “Matt created a beautiful hand drawn toile that represents what it’s like to grow up in the Bay.” This design is available in Ballpoint Blue, but if you're craving a different color we can make that happen.

This hyper realistic, non-repeating mural was part of DFC’s Fountain Of Youth Collection created with Mexican photographer David Franco. The mural was inspired by Michael Jackson, before his passing, and features Mexican toys and a hidden fountain of youth. It's funky for both big and little kids!
