Chrome Bags London Transport Series
October 17, 2012
Chrome is THE messenger bag company for true, tried and tested gear for pros. Occasionally they decide they need to up the ante and give a bag or two serious aesthetic upgrades without sacrificing the bombproof quality they’re know for. When they designed their London Transport Series they were inspired by herringbone, leather elbow patches, orverstiching and Victorian wallpaper. Chrome wanted their iconic Citizen buckle bag and Yalta roll-up bag to represent all things punk, ale and tweed. For an appropriate wallpaper design for the bags’ interiors they looked to Flavor Paper to produce a relevant and edgy pattern appropriate for the hard living peeps that were destined to purchase the bags. We happened to have a British intern named Matt Manson at the time who is a very talented illustrator, so with some guidance he created the Victorian Cyclist print that lined the innards of the bags. While we showed the bag and wallpaper at London Design Festival in 2011 we still haven’t officially released the pattern yet, so if you’re interested in having this beautiful wallpaper grace your space please let us know.
